Ben Franklin
Ben Franklin (co-founder) was born and raised in King George, Virginia and began singing at a young age in church and on various hay bales surrounding his parent’s property. Even at a young age, he dreamed of creating exciting productions that would thrill an audience. Now his dreams are a reality as Suspended Cirque literally takes flight. New to the circus world, Ben brings his experience in Musical Comedy to this vibrant company.
With a BFA in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory and University, he has performed all over the world as an actor/singer/dancer. He has worked in numerous regional theatres, national tours, world cruises, Off-Broadway, and Lincoln Center. Favorite productions and roles include: My Fair Lady w/ Kelsey Grammar and Brian Dennehy, The Music Man w/ Shirley Jones and Patrick Cassidy, The Wizard Of Oz; Scarecrow, Disney’s Beauty & The Beast; Lumiere, Cats; Rum Tum Tugger, Oklahoma!; Will Parker, Arsenic & Old Lace; Mortimer Brewster, Street Scene; Dick McGann, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers; Caleb, Peter Pan; Starkey/Indian, Cabaret; Bobby, Hairspray; Brad, Urinetown; Tiny Tom, & Brigadoon; Sandy Dean and the film version of The Producers.
In addition to theatre performance, his aerial circus credits extend to Aida, Above The Belt at the Zipper Theatre and Trapeze School New York. Ben plays the saxophone and the oboe as well.
He would like to thank his loving family for all of their support, the many teachers who have inspired him over the years, the friends who have lifted him up so many times, Josh for embarking on this journey with him, and most of all, you, for supporting the performing arts. Thank you for supporting Suspended Cirque and I hope that you enjoy our shows!
