The beauty of watching live performance lies in bearing witness to art unfolding right before your eyes. And “Urbanopolis,” Suspended Cirque’s latest site-specific, aerial creation at Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO delivers just that. The show is a low-budget indie Cirque du Soleil from its burlesque chick acrobats to its hula hoop skirts, to the shreds of newspaper dangling from a hoop descended from the ceiling, proving that heart and creativity trump dollars and glitz every time.

Suspended Cirque Says Thank You!
Suspended Cirque sends a huge, giant THANK YOU to everyone who came out to see our three performances of URBANOPOLIS!
We couldn’t have done this without the support of our friends and families, our community of aerialists and performers, the Galapagos Art Space and staff, and the extended group of old and new fans. Thank you and thank you, again and again!

URBANOPOLIS: First Night
WOW!!! Urbanopolis’s first night was so exciting, we had a blast performing it tonight!
Thank you to the so many, many people who came to Galapagos Art Space this evening. (Michelle’s sister Angie came all the way from Denver, CO to see the show!)
There are two more shows — Saturday at 3PM, and Sunday at 7:30PM — hint, hint!
