Joshua Dean
Joshua Dean (co-founder) has a great passion for movement and theater. He started as a dancer but has now trained for many years to take his dancing to the air to be one of the people creating art with a combination of aerial arts, acrobatics, dance, and theater arts. He cannot wait to share this with you and hopes you enjoy it as much as he enjoys creating and performing it.
Joshua has performed across the country and on several seas as an aerialist, dancer, and as a choreographer. He has danced for the legendary Twyla Tharp and been onstage in many musicals and ballets. Some of his credits include aerial choreographer and featured performer for Goodspeed Opera House’s “Cranival!” and Alabama Shakespeare Company’s “Peter Pan”, featured aerialist for Broadway Bares, aerialist and acrobat for Norwegian Cruise Line’s The Jewel and The Sun, and has worked for AcroBack, ImaginAerial, The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus at the Spiegeltent, and more. He is an Adjunct Professor of Dance at Pace Univerity, and is a member of the aerial duo 2 to Fly. You can take aerial art classes from him at Trapeze School New York. “Suspended Cirque is a new aerial theatre company. We are bringing another side of circus to NYC with our theatrics and interesting apparatus. We will play instruments, dance, swing from a chandelier, clown about, and deliver a scene or a song. We combined it all to make it unique, new and exciting, and hopefully something that everyone can enjoy,” Joshua.
“What will Suspended Cirque do next? Suspended Cirque will do it all with a unique flair,” Joshua.
